The Family Mobile Lifeline Discount Program offers qualified participant savings of at least $10/month off their wireless bill. Eligibility requirements vary by state, but you may qualify if you participate in government assistance programs such as Medicaid, Food Stamps (SNAP) or Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8). Depending on your state, you may be eligible based on income level, as well.

How it works:

  1. Complete our online application to determine your eligibility. If you’re already a Family Mobile customer, be sure to include your mobile number on your application!
  2. If you pre-qualify, print and sign your completed application and fax or mail it to us for approval.
  3. After we review your application, we’ll update the status on this website. Please note that it may take up to seven days for your application to be reviewed.
  4. If you’re approved and you’re already a Family Mobile customer, we’ll apply the discount to your account immediately and it will show up on your next bill.
  5. If you’re not already a Family Mobile customer, you can visit a local Walmart and sign up for service. Make sure to return to this website and let us know your new phone number so we can apply your discount.

Are there any restrictions?

Yes. Certain restrictions do apply. Eligibility depends on the area you live, your income or any public assistance programs you’re eligible to participate in, and your particular situation. Family Mobile is not available to consumers who are already receiving Lifeline assistance through another carrier and no consumer may receive Lifeline benefits on more than one line of service, wireless or otherwise. Consumers who receive Lifeline benefits through Family Mobile agree to certain terms and conditions and other restrictions may apply.
